The IMF has started a blog, Public Financial Management Blog (PMF Blog)

http://blog-pfm.imf.org/

By the way I linked to your Blog Action Day post via White African Blog. Eric Hersman is another great example of someone using blogs to connect networks together. You are really living up to the title Crisscrossed ;-)

I would not have found out about Blog World Hunger except for your post. Before reading your whole post, I thought the blog a little like the World Bank's PSD Blog. I subscribe to blogs like that at Kinja and added it there. End Poverty in South Asia Blog was perhaps influenced by the attention that the PSD Blog has gotten.

William Kamkwamba's Windmill Blog seems quite different from the other two blogs. William's blog grew out of existing blog networks. Well before William started his blog people paying attention to the African blogosphere knew about his story. Global Voices certainly played a role in increasing the visibility of the story. And being invited to TED Global was really important too.

I'm new to your blog, I got here via a link at Beth's Blog. Beth Kanter is commissioned by Net2 to do a weekly roundup to educate and promote technology in the non-profit sphere.

It's important that their be bloggers who make blogs--stories are important. But sites like Global Voices and Net2 play essential roles in cultivating the networks.

Even if Net2 hadn't commissioned Beth Kanter, she links to others more than most any blogger I know. I'm not sure what to call what people like you and Beth do. Some say network weavers, a term I like very much.

It's good to keep in mind the story aspect of blogs; it's also good to pay attention to the network weavers.

Hi, great comparison. Sure you know globalvoices' approach of using bridge blogger to make bloggers' voices heard. I don't think it's surprising that the organisation's blog is less vibrant than the other two personal blogs! Probably they are building on their already existing networks!
