iliked your note onm mobile applications and the bit about MXit. this shows how creative teh children are, whther it will cuirb theoir originality, lead to too much of copying and thus stifle learning, i am not yet sure. I am a biut anxious about it.

if the later, then just as calculator stifled ability to do mental math among western kids, and now even indian kids in many places, the MXit might also damage capacity to think originally. But it can also do the opposite if some kids discourage solving the equation asked in home work and rather use another one to illustrate,
they need to be counseled i think. who is tracking this process in south africa??

there are many applications of mobile in India, such as remote switch for irrigation pump ( or any device)which farmers need to deal with elctric supply in night and that too at an announced hour; car theft prevention device, and so on
